ABOUT ESPACIOS NATURALES Y DESARROLLO SUSTENTABLE A.C.
Reversing environmental degradation focusing on a long-term view of sustainable development is both possible and viable. We know this because we have done it.
We founded Espacios Naturales y Desarrollo Sustentable A.C. (ENDESU, the name translates as ´Natural Spaces and Sustainable Development´) in October of 1995. Our mission has always been to conserve, restore and promote the sustainable use of natural resources in Mexico.
From the beginning, we set out to put-together a team that would leave its mark on the state of conservation of Mexico´s natural resources. We have always strived to be recognized for our commitment and professionalism, for our capacity for innovation, and for being a capable and reliable partner- willing to work as a team for the sake of Mexican ecosystems.
28 years on, we have developed more than 250 projects throughout Mexico, aided by a wide array of partners and donors. Our results are visible in thousands of hectares of conserved and restored forests, rainforests and wetlands. Likewise, in actions that have resulted in the recovery and monitoring of endangered species, work carried out with landowners for them to use their natural resources sustainably. The integration of environmental education in every one of our projects means that the results of our work last and consolidate over time.

HUMAN AND TECHNICAL RESOURCES
Over the past 28 years, we have assembled a team of professionals with extensive experience and a solid commitment to conserve, restore and promote the sustainable use of the natural wealth of Mexico. Likewise, year after year we strengthen our infrastructure and technical equipment to facilitate the fulfillment of our objectives.

Significantly influence the restoration and sustainable use of Mexican biodiversity.

Conservation and environmental restoration
We work to protect and conserve the natural wealth that surrounds us, but especially to restore areas that are already affected. Thanks to this we have managed to recover thousands of hectares of forests, jungles and wetlands in various parts of the country.
Recovery and management of species
We work on the recovery of species and their habitats to mitigate the excessive pressure that human activities have exerted on them, placing them at risk of disappearing. We have collaborated in the recovery of more than 35 priority species.
Sustainable development
We promote sustainable development in the communities with which we work through productive diversification, backyard management, agroforestry, sustainable livestock farming and nature tourism. We implement new production techniques generated in a creative and innovative way.
Climate change
Our projects consider the adaptation and mitigation of the effects of climate change.
Environmental awareness and education
All our projects include a component of awareness, training and participation of the communities with which we work. We have operated 10 environmental education centers and field stations in various ecosystems of our country.
Institutional Coordination
We work with communities, companies, academia, other civil society organizations and the three levels of government for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity. Over 27 years we have managed more than one billion pesos. In the last five years we have managed, on average, 60 million pesos annually.
